My family is, and always will be, my top priority as I wish to strive for greatness in fatherhood and beyond. That said, I haven't always lived up to that ideal perfectly. Like anything in life, being a good husband and father requires constant effort and improvement. While I believe I'm a good husband and father, I know I'm not great yet. But I'm determined to reach that level, even if my own standards seem unattainable. Sometimes that means prioritizing my own mental and physical health so I can be the best version of myself for my family.
Every woman wants to know the secret to a better husband, right? Well, here it is: the only way to get a better husband is for him to want to be better. Luckily, my wife has never given me a reason not to strive for that. We communicate openly and honestly, addressing any issues that arise. We're a team, committed to making our marriage work. Throughout this blog, you'll find posts about my journey to becoming a better husband. I hope our experiences can offer valuable insights to others.
I believe that my desire to be a better husband naturally fuels my drive for greatness in fatherhood. My son is only 10 months old, and while I have time to grow, I also know I need to be intentional. After he was born, it truly hit me that I was a father. I dove into books, audiobooks, and articles about raising a son. What did I learn? There are countless opinions, and ultimately, none of us have all the answers. The best we can do is keep learning, growing, and striving to do better each day. I hope to be at least half the man my father was, but also build upon his legacy and become a truly great father to my son.
Since becoming a father, I've developed a deeper appreciation for my community. I want to leave my children a world worth inheriting, a safe and thriving community where they can flourish. I need to be an active participant in making that happen. I wish I had been more involved earlier, and I encourage everyone to consider their role in their own communities. It's not always easy, especially when you move frequently. It feels like starting over each time. But by sharing my experiences navigating my community, I hope to inspire others to get involved.
